What You’ll Learn
On the Level 3 Cyber Security Technician apprenticeship, you will develop the practical knowledge and skills needed to protect organisations from cyber threats. Through monthly instructor-led masterclasses, you will explore core topics such as cyber defence techniques, threat landscapes, and security monitoring, while monthly one-to-one coaching sessions help you apply this learning to real incidents and live systems. You will build a professional portfolio supported by guided evidence capture and complete work-based projects that deliver tangible improvements to security operations.
During the programme, you will gain hands-on experience in threat monitoring, logging, and alert handling, as well as vulnerability scanning, remediation, and secure system configuration. You will learn the fundamentals of network and system security, understand different types of malware and common attack methods, and explore how to mitigate risks effectively. The course also introduces SIEM tools and incident response principles, helping you build essential cyber defence capability, strengthen organisational security posture, and develop the confidence to detect, investigate, and escalate cyber threats.
