Course Outline
The ISO/IEC 42001 Foundation course spans two days, beginning with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS) and the ISO/IEC 42001 standard. On the first day, participants will explore the core concepts, principles, and framework of AIMS, gaining a foundational understanding of AI governance and management requirements.
On the second day, the focus shifts to practical applications of an AIMS, providing participants with the knowledge and skills to implement, manage, and improve AI management systems. The day concludes with the certificate exam, allowing participants to demonstrate their understanding and earn the PECB Foundation credential.

Certification and examination fees are included in the price of the ISO/IEC 42001 Foundation training course. Participants will receive comprehensive training materials containing over 200 pages of content, including practical examples, exercises, and quizzes to support learning. Attendees who complete the course will be issued an attestation of course completion worth 14 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits. Candidates who complete the training but do not pass the exam are eligible to retake it once at no additional cost within 12 months from the initial exam date.

Examination & Certification
The ISO/IEC 42001 Foundation exam is fully aligned with the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) requirements. It assesses participants across two key competency domains: fundamental principles and concepts of an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS), and practical knowledge of implementing and managing an AIMS. Upon successfully passing the exam, candidates can apply for the “PECB Certificate Holder in ISO/IEC 42001 Foundation.” This certificate confirms a solid understanding of the core methodologies, requirements, and management approaches for AIMS. There are no professional experience, audit, or project prerequisites for this entry-level credential. The only additional requirement is signing the PECB Code of Ethics.
